The score for Assault on Precinct 13 was composed by Graeme Revell, who was born in New Zealand in 1955. Revell was a member of SPK, a band that made industrial music in the seventies. A single from SPK formed the basis for his first score for a movie titled Dead Calm, for which he was awarded with the Australian Movie Industry Award. After this Revell composed the scores for a number of movies, some major titles and others that were less successful. Some well known movie titles include The Crow and its sequels and also the remake of The Saint

Before turning to music, Revell has been active in several other occupations, among them, an orderly in a hospital and as a planner in Australia. Besides being well trained as a classical pianist he holds various economical and political degrees.

Besides the score for the movie Assault on Precinct 13 several tracks of Dean Martin were used, along with songs performed by Michael Dees and the band KRS-One.
